Lawmakers around the country proposing legislation to restrict drone use

Lawmakers around the country proposing legislation to restrict drone use

Many Americans are likely unaware of the fact that drones are already being used in the United States. Indeed, drones are used by the military, data from which is shared with law enforcement, by at least one National Guard unit and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is slated to join the club as well.

Now lawmakers across the United States are attempting to put limits on the use of drones domestically in an apparent attempt to push back against this sweeping trend.

One bill, HB 1616, introduced in Virginia by Del. C. Todd Gilbert, would provide “that no state agency or organization having jurisdiction over criminal law enforcement or regulatory violations, including but not limited to the Department of State Police nor any department of law enforcement of any city, county or town, shall procure a public unmanned aircraft system (drone aircraft) without the approval of the General Assembly or the local governing body, respectively.”

In North Dakota, Republican state Rep. Rick Becker has introduced legislation in an attempt to make sure drone use by police is not abused.

“It’s a new technology that has really amazing capabilities and can be used in excellent ways for our communities. I don’t want to say that drones can’t be used,” Becker said, according to the Washington Times. “But with the new technology there are also issues, primarily privacy issues, which can come into play.”

Unsurprisingly, the sheriff of the most populous county in North Dakota, Cass County, has already claimed that Becker’s proposal would set a dangerous precedent.  MORE

FL Man's 'Patriot Garden' Targeted Again - City Threatens Uprooting and Daily $500 Fines

"They will take our house before they take our Patriot Garden." Again, Helvenston stands firm - and he wants you to join him!

Jason and Jennifer Helvenston were given a strict deadline of November 7 to uproot their beautiful 25x25 foot front yard garden - or else face major punishment. That garden still stands and so does their resolution to keep it.

A flood of supportive emails initially stopped the threats of forced excavation by Orlando, cancelling a December board hearing, but, as always when perceived public fervor ebbed, the city quietly came back to demand its removal again. Starting tomorrow they will be inspected and charged $500 per day if the garden isn't gone - they are not deterred.

Instead, they have launched "Plant a Seed, Change the Law" and want to help you get started. Of course, the news anchor gave the wrong website - go to Patriot-gardens.com to request free seeds and start your garden in solidarity. Please see more details below.

Ironically, Orlando is aspiring to be the "Greenest City in America" and their mission statement reads:
To inspire and facilitate the development of a well-planned, diverse, and sustainable community to make Orlando more livable for its citizens, businesses and visitors.
The mayor encouraged its citizens to grow gardens even appearing in an ad! Caricatures are depicted planting gardens everywhere in the city - growing with neighbors is encouraged. Look at all the things Mayor Buddy Dyer tells the townspeople to do:

Secret government documents reveal vaccines to be a total hoax

Secret government documents reveal vaccines to be a total hoax

Tuesday, January 08, 2013 by: Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/038598_vaccines_medical_hoax_government_documents.html#ixzz2HRF08VWW(NaturalNews) If you have children, you are more than likely already aware of the official U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) "Immunization Schedules," which today recommend an astounding 29 vaccines be given between birth and six years of age, including yearly flu shots, as well as another five to 16 vaccines between ages seven and 18 (http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/). But a recent investigative report compiled by Dr. Lucija Tomljenovic, Ph.D., uncovers more than 30 years of hidden government documents exposing these vaccine schedules as a complete hoax, not to mention the fraud of the vaccines themselves to provide any real protection against disease.

Though her paper focuses primarily on the British health system's elaborate cover-up of the dirty truth about its own national vaccination program, the tenets of the study's findings still apply to vaccination schedules in general, which are typically designed for the purpose of serving corporate interests rather than public health. Government authorities, it turns out, in an ongoing bid to satisfy the private goals of the vaccine industry, have deliberately covered up pertinent information about the dangers and ineffectiveness of vaccines from parents in order to maintain a high rate of vaccination compliance. And in the process, they have put countless millions of children at risk of serious side effects and death.

Hiding the truth and covering up data to encourage vaccine compliance

Through several Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Dr. Tomljenovic was able to obtain transcripts of private meetings that were held between the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI), a so-called "independent expert advisory committee" that makes recommendations to the government about vaccine policy, and various British health ministers over the years. And after poring through this plethora of information, which had previously been veiled from public view, Dr. Tomljenovic made some disturbing discoveries.

"[T]he JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization) made continuous efforts to withhold critical data on severe adverse reactions and contraindications to vaccinations to both parents and health practitioners in order to reach overall vaccination rates which they deemed were necessary for 'herd immunity,' a concept which ... does not rest on solid scientific evidence," explains Dr. Tomljenovic in the introduction to her paper.

"Official documents obtained from the U.K. Department of Health (DH) and the JCVI reveal that the British health authorities have been engaging in such practice for the last 30 years, apparently for the sole purpose of protecting the national vaccination program."

These are some strong accusations, but the information Dr. Tomljenovic gathered speaks for itself. Not only did the JCVI routinely ignore questions of safety as they came up with regards to the ever-expanding vaccination schedule, but the group actively censored unfavorable data that shed a "negative" light on vaccines in order to maintain the illusion that vaccines are safe and effective. Beyond this, the JCVI regularly lied to both the public and government authorities about vaccine safety in order to ensure that people continued to vaccinate their kids.

GUN HISTORY LESSON

GUN HISTORY LESSON

[]

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total
of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this antigun-control message to all of your friends.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!

SWITZERLAND'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE.

IT'S A NO BRAINER!

DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.

Trial Postponed For Farmer Targeted by Raw Milk Police (Urgent Update)

Trial Postponed For Farmer Targeted by Raw Milk Police (Urgent Update)

The Hershberger Family
Activist Post

Update: We have just learned through Right to Choose Healthy Food that the Vernon Hershberger's trial has been postponed yet again, this time until May 20, 2013. The full press release from the News Republic staff can be read below. A map and directions for the rally can be found here.
A trial on charges related to the sale of raw milk against Loganville farmer Vernon Hershberger has been postponed due to a last-minute motion filed by his attorney in court Friday.
During a telephone conversation with the News Republic on Saturday, Hershberger said the motion — which was not immediately available — related to his First Amendment rights to religious freedom.
'Because of my religious beliefs, I do not believe in taking anyone to court,' Hershberger said. 'The only option I had was to disregard the holding order placed on me and allow the members to come and get their food.'
Hershberger said his attorney was allowed to file the motion and prosecutors in the case requested additional time to consider their response. Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Guy Reynolds accepted the request and agreed to push back the trial, which had been scheduled to begin Jan. 7.
Prosecutors representing the Wisconsin Department of Justice could not be reached for comment Saturday.
The delay is the second time the trial has been postponed. The case previously was pushed back following a hearing in August.
Original article with background details can be found below....

A little more than a week ago we covered the ongoing battle of Vernon Hershberger with the Wisconsin legal system. Hershberger was raided by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, citing a failure to have proper retail licensing for distribution. He subsequently had his raw milk stocks destroyed by injecting blue dye, had his farm shut down, and was arrested.  MORE

Political Football Over Disaster Relief: Another Argument for Public Banking

Political Football Over Disaster Relief: Another Argument for Public Banking

Hurricane Sandy hits Long Island by McCormickFoundation.org

In a shameless display of putting politics before human needs, Congress began 2013 still scrapping over a $60 billion Hurricane Sandy relief bill fully nine weeks after the disaster hit. And if the Katrina experience is any indication, the bill may not bring adequate relief to struggling and displaced homeowners even when it is finally passed.

The damage wrought by Sandy to New York and New Jersey coastal areas was similar in scale   to that to New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Just two weeks after Katrina hit, Congress approved $62.3 billion in emergency appropriations, along with numerous subsequent emergency funding requests to cover the damages, which topped $100 billion. Yet as noted on the Occupy Sandy Facebook page, federal relief funds post-Katrina were gutted in favor of "privatizing and outsourcing relief, making room for predatory lenders, disaster capitalists, and gentrification developers."

Most people believe they are protected from disaster by their insurance policies or by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  But many Sandy victims have found that their insurance policies included obscure provisions that excluded coverage, depending on such things as whether the disaster was officially classified as a "hurricane" or a "tropical storm," and whether the damage was from "wind" or "flood."  And the only aid they have been offered by FEMA, working in partnership with Small Business Administrative Disaster Assistance , is the opportunity to take on more debt.  According to a report by Strike Debt :
[T]he vast majority of FEMA's resources and efforts are spent on public assistance grant programs that provide infrastructure restoration. Individual victims of disaster are mostly offered personal loans to help them "get back on their feet." Although these loans might seem good on the surface, they have many features of predatory subprime lending techniques and ultimately make long-term financial burden the precondition for "recovery."

Euros discarded as impoverished Greeks resort to bartering

Communities set up local currencies and exchange networks in attempt to beat the economic crisis

It's been a busy day at the market in downtown Volos. Angeliki Ioanitou has sold a decent quantity of olive oil and soap, while her friend Maria has done good business with her fresh pies.
But not a single euro has changed hands – none of the customers on this drizzly Saturday morning has bothered carrying money at all. For many, browsing through the racks of second-hand clothes, electrical appliances and homemade jams, the need to survive means money has been usurped.
"It's all about exchange and solidarity, helping one another out in these very hard times," enthused Ioanitou, her hair tucked under a floppy felt cap. "You could say a lot of us have dreams of a utopia without the euro."
In this bustling port city at the foot of Mount Pelion, in the heart of Greece's most fertile plain, locals have come up with a novel way of dealing with austerity – adopting their own alternative currency, known as the Tem. As the country struggles with its worst crisis in modern times, with Greeks losing up to 40% of their disposable income as a result of policies imposed in exchange for international aid, the system has been a huge success. Organisers say some 1,300 people have signed up to the informal bartering network. MORE
