Three Real Problems We Face Today

From:  Mark Lerner

Three fundamental problems threaten the survival of our nation.

#1 The growing public debt and the threat of higher interest rates on that debt that threaten to bankrupt the country.

#2 The growing number of people who depend on government payments who will demand that the government borrow America into bankruptcy to preserve their payment.

#3 The concentration of unaccountable power in government and in the federal executive branch.

These problems CANNOT be solved in Washington alone.

a) because Washington is usually gridlocked and can't fundamentally reverse these trends by itself.

b) because every 20 or 30 years the left breaks the gridlock and expands the size scope, power and debt of government--think 1913, 1935, 1965, 1993 and 20009.  We can win some elections, but we can't win every one for 50 years.  So we keep losing ground.

I think the answer, as you have heard from me before, is to mobilize the states to rein in Washington by passing state 10th Amendment laws that empower states to force Congress to propose one or Amendments that limit federal power.
See www.MadisonCoalition.Org

Examples include a balanced budget amendment, and, an amendment to require that Congress approve major new federal regulations.

Do you know anyone that would like to spend time or resources on such an effort to empower states, or might know someone else who would.

The major energy for this effort is not going to come from Washington!

Please forward this to friends!
